A highlight for our district group each year is the Hubertus Mass, followed by a celebration in November. Unfortunately, illness meant that some of our hunting horn players were unable to attend this year, so the Mass took place without them. A smaller group played at the celebration afterwards in Mallerstetten.
At the very start, a minute’s silence was observed in memory of members who had passed away, the victims of the terrible incident in which two employees of the weapons authority lost their lives, and our hunting minister, Huber Aiwanger, who died suddenly and unexpectedly. The hunting horns sounded one final Halali.
After a short address by Bernd Mayr, Mayor of Dietfurt, the 1st Chair, Julian Sippl, presented six members with the long-service badge for 40 years as members of the Bavarian Hunting Association, one member for 50 years and one member for 65 years.
Hubert Schwarz received the Bläsergruppe Honorary Badge in Gold. Hubert served for many years as hornmaster and is responsible for the musical direction of our hunting horn players. As a special mark of appreciation, he was also made an honorary member. Hubert, thank you for your great commitment.
Our dog officer and long-serving wounded-game tracker, Jürgen Dietl, received the Dog Handler Honorary Badge in Silver. He, too, devotes himself wholeheartedly to essential work for our association. Many thanks. Jürgen @dietljurgen.
The results of our club championship shooting were then announced. Thomas Seitz was named 1st Club Champion, Roland Vögele was 2nd Club Champion and Christoph Plank was 3rd Club Champion. Max Koller was named 1st Senior Champion, Helmut Pöller 2nd Senior Champion and Rudolf Jordan 3rd Senior Champion.
Many thanks to @jurahunting for generously providing fantastic prizes for the prize shoot.
With musical accompaniment from “Hau di her Musi”, we enjoyed a convivial evening with fellow hunters, friends and family.
