Do you know the almost 100% guarantee of damage to crops?
We certainly do.
Maize cobs left in the ground from the previous year, whether buried during harvesting or by damage caused by wild boar, are a magnet for wild boar. The following crop, usually wheat, is then systematically rooted up as they search for the cobs and kernels.
On top of that, the increased need for protein in spring means that meadows also suffer.
Sometimes fields need to be guarded, even when you would rather stay at home.
But always responsibly❗
🐗 A lone wild boar? Always make sure it isn’t a sow with piglets. If in doubt, keep your finger straight and, if necessary, fire a deterrent shot instead.
