Did you know that the badger hunting season is regulated differently in every federal state?
We took a closer look and think the differences are pretty striking.
While badgers cannot be shot at all in Bremen and Berlin because they are protected all year round, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania has no closed season at all, and they may be hunted from January to December!
Two opposing extremes, so to speak.
In some federal states, the hunting season begins in August and ends on 31 October. In Rhineland-Palatinate, badgers may be shot until 31. 12 and in Thuringia until 15.January.
In Schleswig-Holstein and Saxony-Anhalt, badgers may be hunted until 31 January.
